Arizona District 13 is once again offering softball across all of our
six Little Leagues. Little League Softball, established in 1974, has
more than
25,000 softball teams and 360,000 participants worldwide. The program
includes divisions of play for girls ages 5 to 18, which culminates at
four Softball World Series tournaments for international competition and
friendship. Little League Softball is proud to be one of the only youth
softball organizations to partner with National Pro Fastpitch,
featuring direct links to the pros for skills, drills and educational
content. Aside from teaching the sport of softball Little League prides
itself on strengthening the self-esteem of its participants, and
promoting teamwork and sportsmanship. For more information on Little

Eligibility
We are registering girls league ages 9-16. League age for softball is defined as the girl's age on Jan. 1, NOT April 30, which is the date used for Little League Baseball.
Registration
Girls register through their local league as they would for baseball players.
Fees
The fee is set by the local league, but should be similar to baseball players of the same league age.
Team Placement
We will place by age and geography. Last season, the district fielded one juniors, one majors and one minors team that competed interdistrict.
Season
Majors and minors will compete in a similar season to baseball's majors and minors. Juniors will not start games until May, after most of the high school softball season.
Practice and game sites
McKemy Middle School in Tempe is our likely central site. However, if a league signs up enough players, practice and game sites will be moved to a closer venue for that league. We likely will compete interdistrict with Gilbert Softball Little League, which is adjacent to our district and uses old and new McQueen Parks.
Equipment
Teams will be supplied with softballs, catchers gear and bats.
Uniforms
Players will be supplied with hats, jerseys and socks.
Managers/coaches
As always, we welcome volunteers to be considered for managing and coaching spots. Fill out the paperwork for the required background check through your local league.
